Doncaster North City Learning Centre is working closely with  local schools to provide specialist IT support in the delivery of the ICT National Curriculum.  Doncaster North CLC delivers many of the units in the ICT programme of study for key stages 1 and 2. With the wide range of technology we have (a full suite of the latest RM 1 PC’s , a MSC suite, Lego Robots and much more), we are able to deliver sessions using ICT that bring “dry” topics to life.

Sessions are typically for one day and cover all the learning objectives for the unit. The units below are all taught by specialist tutors and are bookable in advance.

All  the units offer children the opportunity to:

• develop IT capability, including their knowledge and understanding of the importance of information and of how to select and prepare it; 
• develop their skills in using hardware and software to manipulate information in their processes of problem solving, recording and expressive work; 
• develop their ability to apply their IT capability and ICT to support their use of language and communication, and their learning in other areas; 
• explore their attitudes towards ICT, its value for themselves, others and society, and their awareness of its advantages and limitations.
