Mobile Learning Project

Doncaster North City Learning Centre is pleased to fund an innovative project in conjunction with the Maths department at out partner school, Don Valley School & Performing Arts College. A group of 30 Year 10 students have been issued with a Personalised Digital Assistant (PDA) which is connected to the web via 3G technology. Students are benefitting in many ways from this hand held technology, including personalised learning at any time. They are able to receive homework and projects from their teacher, e mail staff for help and communicate with their peers with maths related problems. This encourages students to work collectively, avoiding any feelings of isolation. This project is set to continue for another year when we hope it will lead to improved attainment within Maths.
