International Maths Seminar
Dated: 03/02/2009
We were delighted to participate in an International Maths Seminar hosted by North Sefton City Learning Centre, which took place on January 22nd and 23rd. Schools from Holland, France, Germany and Spain took part, as well as schools from Liverpool and our host school, Don Valley. Pupils worked on a variety of challenges which had to be solved by discussion and reasoning. In addition to Mathematical problems, pupils had to overcome language barriers, as they were in mixed country groups, with some pupils having limited use of English. Good teamwork skills were shown and and pupils from different countries became united very quickly. Problems were solved with enthusiam and determination and students participated fully all in the activities, including a great night of 10 pin bowling! We look forward to working again with some of the schools in projects in the future.
