Asus Mini Books for Schools Project
Dated: 01/04/2009
The CLC is pleased to involve 7 local secondary schools in a project involving the provision of a mobile classsroom set of 30 Asus Mini Book computers. The aim of the project is to assist those curriculum areas and Departments that do not have ready access to ICT and have tradiitionally been under funded in this area. In addition, all schools have been provided with a charging cabinet and a compatible printer.
The schools involved are Don Valley, Sir Thomas Wharton, McAuley Catholic High School, North Doncaster Technology College, Armthorpe, Northcliffe and, most recently, Danum School.
Feedback so far has been very positive from both staff and students who have found them easy to use, quick to get up and running and a great tool for completing research tasks for project work.
The CLC is particularly looking to raise achievement in all areas, measured by improved motivation of students and examination outcomes. We hope these computers will be enjoyed by all the students involved and will go some way towards helping schools meet the above targets.
